Early Learning Centre | Early Childhood Education Woy Woy Ocean Beach

Here at Little Giggles Early Learning Centre we promote healthy lifestyles and healthy eating. We are a Munch and Move approved centre.

Munch & Move program is NSW Health initiative that supports the healthy development of children birth to 5 years by promoting physical activity, healthy eating and reduced small screen time.

This program is implemented on a daily basis at our centre. Educators at Little Giggles promote healthy lunch boxes to include fresh fruit, vegetables, protein, cereals and grains and diary. We also recommend water as a drink and encourage families to avoid juices such as apple juice or orange juice.

Our Nutrition program also includes:

• Weekly dance/yoga/exercise- we offer in -house and external physical activity classes for the children.
• Gardening in our beautiful veggie patch where children have the opportunities to grow and pick their own organic fruit and vegetables.
• Sports such as soccer, running, relays and mini Olympics
• Munch Time is a cooking class that takes place every week. We encourage children to use fresh produce to cook amazing meals. On some occasions children will cook something exciting such as cakes or cookies as a treat

Munch and Move

Munch & Move is NSW Health initiative that supports the healthy development of children birth to 5 years by promoting physical activity, healthy eating and reduced small screen time (e.g. watching TV or DVDs, playing on computers and small hand-held games devices).
Establishing sound eating and activity habits from an early age gives children the best chance of leading a healthy life and maintaining a healthy weight. Munch & Move supports the NSW Government’s priority of preventing childhood overweight and obesity.
Early childhood is the ideal time for children to develop and practice healthy eating and physical activity habits; this includes learning a range of fundamental movement skills that will help children take part in and enjoy physical activity throughout their lives.
