Early childhood is the ideal time for children to develop and practice healthy eating and physical activity habits; this includes learning a range of fundamental movement skills that will help children take part in and enjoy physical activity throughout their lives.
Children spend a substantial amount of time in early childhood settings including preschools, long day care services and family day care services. Because so many children attend these services, they provide ideal settings to increase awareness of appropriate physical activity and healthy eating habits.
Establishing sound eating and activity habits from an early age gives children the best chance of leading a healthy life and maintaining a healthy weight. Munch & Move supports the NSW Government’s priority of preventing childhood overweight and obesity.
Little Giggles is a Munch & Move accredited service. Our Educators have all undertaken the Munch & Move training to ensure our educational programs incorporate the healthy eating and activity guidelines. Our goal for the children is for them to have healthy attitudes towards food and exercise.
